Flashback - Pt. Reyes Lighthouse

On one of the first days we were here, we decided to leave the boxes behind and go see the ocean. In my memory, one of the most remarkable places to see the ocean was Pt. Reyes National Seashore. The lighthouse is the farthest point I'd been out. It seemed like a good place to start.

The drive out was beautiful. A deer ran in front of the car causing me to exclaim, "Look Out!" (I have a well defined startle reflex (that borders on ridiculous sometimes).) But Cam handled it masterfully. To get to the lighthouse, you must climb down a significant staircase but that is half the fun. The lighthouse itself isn't particularly amazing but it is a memorable place to visit and the view from there is impressive. As is the wind. Apparently, the lighthouse is frequently one of the foggiest places on earth. We lucked out and were there on a beautiful day. After climbing the stairs, we decided to do some hiking at a nearby trail called Chimney Rock. To be continued...

Gee. Can't imagine why your "Deer Reflex" would be so intent. Mine is too. Comes from hitting those silly things.
