Now that we have lived here a year, it seems we have established certain must-see venues.
If you come to visit us, there are several places you can expect us to take you.
On Patience's last day in California, both she and Sam thought the idea of staying in all day was a good one. I considered it and we did stay in until after noon but at some point, we were a bit stir crazy and there were still several must-do things Patience had not yet done.
So, I drug them into the car and drove the short distance to the Golden Gate Bridge. She had driven across it but didn't have a picture of herself in front of it. When we got there, the top of the bridge was completely covered in fog. We decided to try again later.
I turned around and thought while they were resting in the backseat I'd search for sun by driving them to the top of Mt. Tam. You can see, they were thrilled.
We swung through Muir Woods for a quick look at some of nature's largest creatures.
And by the time we made it back to the bridge, the fog had lifted.
It was a gorgeous day.
We walked under the bridge and out onto it before heading back home.
Unfortunately, Sam would have a fever and cough for the next two weeks.
The doctor said it wasn't strep throat. She said it was just a virus and to let her know if he wasn't better in 3 or 4 weeks. I couldn't imagine.
He had us up in the middle of the night 10 out of 12 nights in a row. He is normally a wonderful sleeper, something I sometimes take for granted. The exhaustion of not getting a full night's sleep had me feeling for Eric & Sarah. The twins are due anytime now.
Thankfully, Sam is better. He never felt really bad just really worn down. No wonder, I guess.
Anyway, aloha Patience. Welcome back, Sam. Check out Cam's blog for the latest adventure.
